KUALA LUMPUR: The National Registration Department (NRD) has urged the four stateless siblings who were reportedly denied schooling sessions due to their lack of identification cards to present themselves at the department. This is necessary for their cases to be thoroughly reviewed.
The NRD also states that this will allow them to conduct further research to gather accurate information regarding the siblings’ citizenship application. The siblings in question are Aziq Fadyan (24), Azreen Batrisya (22), Azzahra Batrisya (12), and Azalea Batrisya (9).
In response to a report made by a local media portal, the NRD has cautioned the public against sensationalizing the issue and misleading the perception of government services. They assert that the processes carried out by the department adhere to the Federal Constitution and existing laws.
The department has also emphasized that individuals with inquiries about citizenship and matters related to the NRD should directly approach any of their 212 offices across the nation. They strongly discourage seeking assistance from middlemen or media platforms.
The NRD assures the public that they are always ready to provide help and guidance as every application and individual problem necessitates unique solutions. This was stated in a release by the department.
