PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s mean household income rose from RM7,901 in 2019 to RM8,479 in 2022, according to the Statistics Department of Malaysia.
The department’s report on the Household Income Survey and Household Expenditure Survey 2022 revealed a 2.4% increase in mean household income.
The report, released by the Chief Statistician’s Office on Friday (July 28), also stated that the country’s median household income rose by an average of 2.5% per year to RM6,338 in 2022.
Furthermore, the report highlighted a rise in the poverty line to RM2,589 in 2022, compared to RM2,208 in 2019.
