SELAYANG: The Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2022 examination has achieved the highest National cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in its history, with a score of 2.82. This marks an improvement from last year’s CGPA of 2.79, according to Malaysian Examinations Council chairman Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman. Speaking at the council’s office on Thursday (July 13), he shared that the National CGPA for this year is the highest ever recorded since the inception of STPM.
Prof Mohd Ekhwan Toriman further highlighted that 1,184 candidates, accounting for 2.84% of the total number of candidates, achieved a perfect CGPA of 4.00. This number surpassed last year’s record of 874 candidates. The STPM 2022 examination saw a total of 41,701 candidates sitting for all three semesters’ exams, showcasing the significant participation and dedication within the education system.
The increase in overall CGPA indicates the continuous efforts and commitment made by students and educators in pursuing academic excellence. The achievement further solidifies the reputation of the STPM examination as a credible and rigorous assessment standard for Malaysian students.
