The possibility of foreign investors coming to Malaysia would be bleak if the Prime Minister keeps changing every year, according to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized the importance of having a strong and stable government in order to develop the economy. Anwar questioned who investors would negotiate with if the government is constantly changing.
During his speech at the opening of the Rahmah Kasih Sayang Mega Sale@Tambun, Anwar mentioned that Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, chose to invest in Malaysia due to its stable government, peaceful environment, and favorable economic policies. Anwar cited this example to highlight the significance of a stable government in attracting foreign investments.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that the money generated from these investments would be utilized to assist the people. He stressed that tax revenue collected from successful companies, rather than taxing the poor, would be utilized to aid the citizens. He also assured that the government would not overlook the issue of rising living costs and would make efforts to address it.
