In Melaka, a second-year student has been accused of killing his younger sibling at their home in Kampung Bukit Piatu.
Yesterday, magistrate Sharda Shienha Mohd Suleiman read out the charge of murder, as stated in Section 302 of the Penal Code, to the accused.
The accused, accompanied by his parents, remained silent throughout the proceedings.
According to the facts of the case, the accused allegedly strangled his nine-year-old brother to death between 11:30 am and 12:35 pm on July 5th at a house in Kampung Bukit Piatu, Melaka Tengah.
The court has ordered the accused to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at Permai Hospital in Tampoi, Johor.
Deputy public prosecutor Muhamad Ehsan Nasarudin handled the prosecution, while the 14-year-old accused had no legal representation.
Prior reports indicated that the victim’s mother informed a neighbor about an incident involving her eldest son and his younger brother. She had reviewed CCTV footage which prompted her action.
The lifeless victim was discovered in the house’s hall with injuries on the head, nose, and neck.
