Police in Johor Baru have arrested a man who allegedly robbed a teenager in an apartment elevator. The suspect, a 43-year-old man, was apprehended at around 11am on Tuesday (Oct 17) at the same apartment complex. The victim, a 14-year-old boy, reported the incident to the police on Sunday (Oct 15). The robbery occurred inside the elevator and the suspect was wearing a helmet at the time. A raid of an apartment unit was conducted following the report, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Items seized from the suspect included a mobile phone, a pair of shoes, and a pair of jeans. Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat confirmed the suspect’s criminal record, which consists of three drug offenses. The suspect also tested positive for morphine. The case is currently being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code. A video clip of the incident, lasting 32 seconds, went viral on various social media platforms.
