In Petaling Jaya, two suspected burglars were apprehended after crashing through a police roadblock and causing injury to a policeman near Damansara Jaya.
During the attempt to evade the roadblock, one of the suspects collided with a policeman, resulting in a metacarpal fracture.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid reported that they were informed about the incident at 9.06pm on Tuesday, December 2.
“We were notified about a red car that sped through the roadblock and injured a policeman near the Damansara Jaya exit along the Sprint Highway,” said Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin.
He explained that after the suspects fled from the roadblock, a police car pursued them for about two kilometres until they ultimately crashed near Jalan 17/50.
Upon arrest, two foreign men, ages 35 and 45, were taken into custody and a total of RM9,839.85 in various foreign currencies, as well as a hammer, screwdriver, and saw, were confiscated by the police.
Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin indicated that “Both suspects do not have any prior criminal records” and that they have been remanded for six days.
He also mentioned that the case has been categorized as both attempted murder and possession of house break-in tools.
