PETALING JAYA: Muda has decided to withdraw its support for the unity government and instead become a third force as a form of protest against the discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) granted to Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Yayasan Akalbudi case.
“We cannot and will not tolerate this unprincipled move,” Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman expressed in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday (Sept 10).
He further added in his post, “Let me be punished instead of losing my principles.”
Party sources have stated that Muda’s withdrawal of support for the unity government has been expected for some time.
According to informed sources, “This decision has been a long time coming. Muda has had enough after Zahid’s case, as it contradicts the party’s principles.”
Even if Muda proceeds with this decision, it will not join Perikatan Nasional and is expected to remain as a third force.
MUDA has decided to become the opposition’s 3rd Force as a sign of protest because the government today dropped 47 corruption cases.
This is the start of normalizing corruption.
