JOHOR BARU: Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is encouraging voters in the Pulai parliamentary by-election to exercise their right to vote as the polling period comes to a close. The Muar MP, who recently attended an Asean youth leaders summit in Jakarta, cast his vote with his family at SK Taman Sutera. He expressed his hopes that voters would choose a representative who would advocate for the people’s issues in Parliament.

Syed Saddiq made these comments after voting at the polling center in Johor Baru on Saturday. When questioned about his selection, he reiterated that voting is confidential and that he considered it his responsibility to vote for a candidate with integrity and a commitment to upholding the rights of the people.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission reported that the voter turnout by 3pm on Saturday was 38% in Pulai and 51% in the Simpang Jeram state seat. Pulai has a total of 166,653 eligible voters, while Simpang Jeram has 40,488.
