KUALA LUMPUR: The Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has confirmed that former Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
He also advised the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could potentially lead to speculations.

Razarudin stated that a police report, which went viral, claiming that Abdul Taib had been removed from a hospital, was valid. This has led to an investigation under Section 336 of the Penal Code, focusing on actions that may endanger Taib’s health.
“The police have submitted the investigation papers to the Sarawak State Prosecution Office on Feb 9, and we are still awaiting further instructions,” he told Bernama on Saturday (Feb 10), adding that it was not an “abduction” because the individual who removed him from the hospital to bring him home was his wife.
