KUALA LUMPUR: According to Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, all police officers and personnel in supervisory roles must take action against subordinates who commit wrongdoings. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police emphasized that senior officers and personnel must be firm and courageous in carrying out their roles and closely monitoring their subordinates. Ayob Khan mentioned that cases of police wrongdoing are increasing and supervisors cannot avoid taking action just to maintain popularity among subordinates. He expressed concern about the lack of action and reprimand against these cases during the Bukit Aman monthly assembly.
Ayob Khan urged all directors, police commissioners, commandants, state police chiefs, department chiefs, and officers in charge of police districts (OCPD) to take decisive action in implementing rules and regulations. He stated that any superior officer who fails to take necessary action against subordinates involved in wrongdoing or with disciplinary problems will face consequences. Furthermore, Ayob Khan emphasized that reliance solely on the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department for inspections and actions is not sufficient for state contingents, brigades, and formations.
