There are rumors circulating that several Umno members, including Isham Jalil, will be expelled from the party in an upcoming meeting this week, Isham Jalil said. He mentioned that his name is on the list but he is not discouraged by the rumor. He explained that it is up to the party leadership and council to decide whether or not to fire him. He emphasized that his struggle has always been sincere towards religion, race, and country rather than personal gain. He added that although a person can be removed, atonement of sin is determined by Allah SWT.

Isham expressed his gratitude for no longer being the Umno Information Chief, as the position would have required him to promote DAP, which he is against. He stated that he is not interested in positions and even turned down being a member of a government-linked company (GLC) board twice. He mentioned that he was told to resign but refused as he was elected by grassroots members.

Isham’s post was in response to another council member who made a video commenting about him earlier. He addressed the accusations made by the council member, including skipping meetings. Isham confirmed that he missed three meetings due to family reasons and illness. He clarified that he never told Umno members not to vote for Pakatan Harapan or DAP and considered it slander. He referred to a live video he made a few months ago where he stated his focus would be on Umno areas.

He mentioned an incident where a Chinese paper published a headline misquoting him, but they later issued a correction. He explained that he informed the council about the correction through the WhatsApp group, suggesting that the council member may have missed it. Isham stated that his position has always been to focus on Umno and he criticized the council member for openly attacking a fellow member on a live video.

Isham disclosed that he agreed to join Pakatan in the Unity Government as the information chief previously. He clarified that this decision was based on the order from the Yang-Di Pertuan Agong to form a government at that time. However, he never agreed to go to the elections with Pakatan, emphasizing that these were two separate matters. He also responded to the council member’s accusation about someone behind him, stating that it could be the grassroots members.
