Tanah Merah MP Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz is considering taking legal action against the Prime Minister’s photographer who claimed he was smoking an electronic cigarette while in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday, September 19.
Ikmal stated that a police report would be filed by his officers at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters on Friday, September 22, in response to the allegation.
The MP had previously denied the accusation, asserting that the cylindrical object in question was a pen, not a vape device.
In an interview with Sinar Harian, Ikmal emphasized, “Everyone knows I’m not a smoker. I can’t even sit next to a smoker, let alone vape.”
The photograph, taken by photographer Sadiq Asyraf, became viral on social media after being uploaded on X (previously Twitter).
Sadiq accompanied the image with a caption, which read, “Unacceptable, immediately starts vaping while coming out of Dewan Rakyat.”
