KOTA KINABALU: The Tanjung Aru Perdana Park, where a jogger was attacked by a romp of otters recently, has been given the green light to reopen, says Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah.

The city Mayor said Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) and the Sabah Wildlife Department have allowed the operator of the Tanjung Aru Perdana Park to reopen.

However, the park has so far remained closed.

He added they were monitoring the situation and not leaving anything to chance.

“We asked the operator to reopen the park last week after getting confirmation from a relevant department that the otters did not carry any disease,” he said.

On Sept 11 a woman was attacked by a group of otters while jogging in the park

Two others came to her aid but they were attacked as well.
