A father has been sentenced to 18 years in jail and 10 strokes of the cane for raping his own 14-year-old daughter in Tawau. The immigrant, aged 58, pleaded guilty to the charge in Tawau Sessions Court. The incident took place on February 11 in a house in the Semporna district. Judge Rosli Ahmad imposed the prison sentence and caning punishment.
The accused is currently serving a six-month jail term under the Immigrations Act and will begin serving his rape case sentence from the date of his arrest. No legal representation was present for the accused, who faced prosecution by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Syahnidzam Ahmad.
KOTA KINABALU: The heinous act of a father raping his own flesh and blood, has resulted in him getting an 18-year jail sentence with 10 strokes of the cane in Tawau on Wednesday (Sept 13).
The 58-year-old immigrant was charged with raping his 14-year-old daughter on Feb 11, at around 11pm in a house in Semporna district.
The man pleaded guilty to the charge before Tawau Sessions Court judge Rosli Ahmad.
Rosli set an 18-year imprisonment sentence on him, and 10 strokes of the rotan for the man’s crime.
The man is currently serving a six-month jail sentence under the Immigrations Act, and he will serve his rape case sentence from the date of his arrest.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Syahnidzam Ahmad prosecuted while the accused was not represented.
