According to a teacher from a secondary school in Sandakan, two 13-year-olds were bullied by their senior dorm mates. Sandakan OCPD Assistant Comm Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek stated that the report was made by a 56-year-old female teacher, alleging that the Form One students were targeted by two older students on Tuesday (April 2).
The alleged perpetrators were identified as students from Form Two and Form Five.
“Statements have been taken from both the victims and suspects, and the case will be investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” said Abdul Fuad.
A post on the TV Sabah Facebook page revealed that the victims had complained to a warden about the two seniors who had escaped school through a drain behind the hostel.
The suspects, believed to be siblings, later confronted the victims with weapons including an iron rod and a garbage shovel.
As a result, both victims were left traumatized and even missed their sahur (pre-dawn meal during Ramadan) out of fear of encountering the suspects.
This incident occurred just a day after 13 teenage boys were charged in the Magistrate’s Court in Lahad Datu for the death of a 17-year-old boy at a vocational school the previous month.
They were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a potential death sentence or a prison term of 30 to 40 years, along with a maximum of 12 strokes of the cane if not sentenced to death.
