KOTA KINABALU: A teenage motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic accident after crashing into a lamp post in Labuan.
The Labuan OCPD, Supt Mohd Hamizi Halim, stated that the victim lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the lamp post along the Pohon Batu, Kg Lajau road at 2.31am on Tuesday.
Upon impact, the victim sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to the Nukleus Hospital Labuan for medical treatment,” added Supt Mohd Hamizi Halim.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, the victim unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 8.35am.
Supt Hamizi urged parents to be more vigilant about their children’s activities and cautioned road users to exercise greater caution.
An investigation has been launched into this incident, as it is being probed for causing death and reckless driving under the Road Transport Act 1987.
