KOTA KINABALU: An incident occurred in Sandakan district where a teenager sustained burns after an electric substation caught fire. The 14-year-old, known as Mustakim, suffered burns on multiple parts of his body, including his face, body, arms, and legs during the incident that took place on Wednesday (Sept 6) at around 1 PM. The incident was reported near the closed down Borneo Golf Hotel at Kampung Forest, and the Sandakan Fire Station chief, Severinus Sainkui, was informed about it at approximately 1:06 PM.
Upon arrival at the scene, the fire service team found out that a boy had been injured. Severinus Sainkui mentioned that the boy’s injuries were severe enough that he had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. However, when asked about the reason for the boy’s presence at the scene, he refused to disclose any information.
Efforts to extinguish the fire and handle other related matters were successfully concluded by 1:42 PM, according to Severinus Sainkui.
