In Taman Johor, a fire at two single-storey terrace houses and a kindergarten resulted in a teenage boy suffering second-degree burns to his head on Monday (Feb 12).
Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Jamal, the Larkin fire station chief, stated that the distress call was received at 8.25pm and a total of 28 personnel in several fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
According to Mohd Suhaimi, the 17-year-old victim, who was sleeping at the time of the fire, was rescued by members of the public.
The fire nearly destroyed one terrace house and caused slight damage to the adjacent one, as well as 30% damage to the kindergarten. Additionally, four motorcycles were damaged.
The victim received first aid from an emergency response team and was then taken to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for further treatment,” Mohd Suhaimi said.
Mohd Suhaimi also added that the cause of the fire was still under investigation. – Bernama
