IPOH: According to Asst Comm Mohamad Nordin Abdullah, one of the victims from the capsized boat incident off Teluk Batik has passed away. Nurul Afiqah Abdullah Sani, 34, died at 4.58am on Tuesday (Aug 29).
ACP Mohamad Nordin stated that Nurul Afiqah received immediate first aid, including CPR, after being rescued and regained consciousness. She was then taken to Seri Manjung Hospital’s emergency department.
The deceased, Nurul Afiqah, will be brought to her village in Bagan Tiang, Tanjung Piandang, and buried after the Zohor prayer.
On Monday (Aug 28), Nurul Afiqah and a disabled 17-year-old were rescued from the capsized boat while seven other individuals, including two crew members, managed to swim to shore at Pantai Teluk Batik in Seri Manjung.
Comm Mohamad Nordin mentioned on Monday that during the incident, none of the victims were wearing life jackets and the boat operator was not registered.
