A police officer in Terengganu was arrested by the Terengganu Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on suspicions of soliciting and accepting a bribe amounting to RM2,000. The arrest is related to a recent police raid on a house where two individuals were held due to suspected involvement in the use of banned substances. After conducting a urine test on the suspects, the officer allegedly demanded RM2,000 from them in exchange for not taking any further action against them. The 30-year-old suspect was apprehended in a district in Terengganu and will be presented in court on Monday, October 8, to obtain a remand order. The case is being investigated under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009, which deals with soliciting and receiving bribes, according to Terengganu MACC director Hazrul Shazreen Abd Yazid.
