KEMAMAN: Terengganu MCA has launched a research project aiming to explore women’s participation in digital entrepreneurship, with the goal of helping women achieve economic independence through e-commerce. The project, titled “Digital Pathways: Unlocking Potential and Boosting the Success of Malaysia’s Women Entrepreneurs”, will also investigate relevant strategies and key factors. It will focus on women between the ages of 18 and 60 in the Klang Valley.
Dr Monna Ong, the State party chief, stated that the research findings will provide valuable guidance for women on their digital entrepreneurship journey, enabling them to increase their household income. The findings will also be presented to relevant departments and policy makers in order to support the advancement of initiatives addressing societal needs.
The research project was launched during the “Women Entrepreneurship Boost Program” held in KEMAMAN on Friday (Nov 3), with Wanita MCA chief Wong You Fong leading the launch. Wong expressed the desire for more comprehensive research projects in any field that could contribute to policy-making.
Regarding legal safeguards, Wong emphasized their importance and stated that Wanita MCA is establishing task forces to examine legislation affecting women, families, and senior citizens. She added that the party has been urging the government to establish ombudsman mechanisms to address such issues.
The event also included discussions on entrepreneurial opportunities for women in the digital realm. Additionally, representatives from the police force were invited to speak about preventing telecommunications network fraud.
