The absence of an Opposition bloc marked a historic moment in the 15th Terengganu State Legislative Assembly, which convened on Sunday (Oct 1). This occurred as Perikatan Nasional achieved a complete victory in the state election held last August. Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu gave his consent for the First Session of the 15th State Legislative Assembly to take place on Sunday. Notable attendees included Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, state assembly speaker Mohd Nor Hamzah, and his deputy Khazan Che Mat.
In the Aug 12 state election, the PAS-Bersatu alliance made history by winning all 32 seats, resulting in Terengganu having no opposition for the first time since the country gained independence. – Bernama
