PETALING JAYA: In a show of gratitude, Umno youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh extends his thanks to MCA and MIC for their unwavering loyalty to Barisan Nasional. Dr Akmal describes Barisan as a house that requires collective efforts for repair and restoration. Expressing his appreciation, he states, “Thank you MCA and MIC for your loyalty, both in the past and for the foreseeable future.” In an Instagram post on Saturday (July 8), he emphasizes the need to rebuild the Barisan house together. Dr Akmal asserts, “No one is taking advantage of anyone. We complement and respect each other.”
On Friday (July 7), MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong rejects the offer proposed by Perikatan Nasional’s election candidate, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, to join forces. Dr Wee responds with a concise “No” on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, MIC president Tan Sri Vigneswaran expresses his gratitude towards Perikatan for their offer but declines it for the time being. Both Barisan component parties had previously announced that they would not be participating in the upcoming elections in six states.
