KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the public who wish to participate in any rally within the city must abide by road laws and regulations, according to Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid. Comm Allaudeen reported that the police have identified individuals who joined a rally by riding motorcycles while carrying banners, which is deemed illegal and endangers other road users. To uphold traffic regulations and ensure everyone’s compliance, traffic operations will continue to be conducted in the city, as announced during a press conference following the KL police’s monthly assembly on Tuesday, October 24.
Comm Allaudeen acknowledged that several parties were planning rallies this week and expressed that while the right to gather is recognized, it must be done in accordance with the law. He mentioned that some organizers had notified the police in advance, while others had not.
Regarding the gathering for Palestine, which would be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Bukit Jalil on Tuesday night, Comm Allaudeen assured that the police had made sufficient preparations and would strive to ensure the smooth running of the event.
