Three boys have tragically lost their lives due to drowning while swimming in a pool at an Army camp in Temerloh near Kuantan. The incident occurred on Friday (Jan 27), according to Pahang Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Dr Wan Mohammad Zaidi Wan Isa.
Wan Mohammad Zaidi Wan Isa stated that the department was alerted about the drowning at the seven feet (2.1 metre) deep pool at 5.55pm. Medical officers confirmed the death of the 11-year-old and 13-year-old boys after they were sent to the hospital by a military ambulance before the arrival of the firefighters.
Wan Mohammad Zaidi Wan Isa mentioned in a statement on Friday, “The firefighters were informed about another boy who had not been located at that time, so they proceeded with a search operation at the pool.” He also highlighted that the firefighters, along with army personnel’s assistance, pumped water out of the pool. However, they did not find any other victim. The missing boy was eventually found safe at another location and was reunited with his family.
