    Three injured after 4WD plunges into 30m ravine in Kundasang

    KOTA KINABALU: A terrifying accident occurred at a village in hilly Kundasang on Tuesday (July 11) when a vehicle carrying three people plunged into a 30m ravine. The victims were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

    Upon receiving the report at 6.08pm, the Fire and Rescue Department quickly responded to the incident on Jalan Mesilou in Kampung Montoki. Civilians had already brought the injured man and woman to the Ranau district hospital before the authorities arrived. Firefighters successfully rescued the third victim, a woman, from the ravine.

    “The courageous firemen from Ranau bravely brought the victim up from the ravine. The victim received preliminary treatment from medical personnel on site before being safely transported to the hospital,” said a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department.

    After ensuring there were no more risks present in the area, the operation concluded at 7.27pm. Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families affected by this unfortunate incident.
