KUALA LUMPUR: In connection with the abduction and murder of a man whose body was found in a car in Puchong, three additional suspects, including a woman, have been apprehended. Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin stated that the arrests took place between Friday and Sunday. “We arrested a male suspect on Friday, a female suspect on Saturday, and another male suspect on Sunday. These three individuals are in remand to assist in further investigations,” he said on Monday (Sept 11).
Additionally, remand extensions have been granted for the four other suspects arrested on Sept 6. At 12.50am on Wednesday (Sept 6), the body of a 26-year-old man was discovered in a car near a petrol station in Batu 14, Puchong. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been abducted from Kampung Muhibbah People’s Housing Project (PPR) on Sept 3 by a group of men. The victim’s father filed a report at the Bukit Jalil police station at 5am on Sept 4, after being notified by his son’s girlfriend about the abduction.
Acting on information received, the police apprehended four men between the ages of 27 and 35 in the Klang Valley area. Subsequently, the victim’s body was found in Batu 14, Puchong. Police suspect that the motive for the crime was due to revenge for stealing valuable possessions belonging to the prime suspect, who is still at large. The four detained suspects had prior criminal records, including drug-related offenses, and had tested positive for drugs.
Post-mortem results revealed that the victim had suffered a broken jaw and ribs, as well as a fractured skull.
