Kuala Lumpur: Brace yourselves for some powerful thunderstorms and heavy rain as the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted a three-day spell of turbulent weather in the waters of western Sabah and northern Sarawak starting from Thursday, July 13. According to the latest weather report issued at 2pm today, July 11, this weather phenomenon is expected due to a low-pressure system that is anticipated to form west of the Philippines and move northwest towards southern China. This weather system will result in increased westerly winds in the aforementioned areas, leading to thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds from July 13 to 15, as stated by MetMalaysia. The department has also issued a warning about strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea from July 15 to 18. To stay up-to-date with accurate information, the public is advised to visit www.met.gov.my, follow official MetMalaysia social media pages, or download the myCuaca application. – Bernama
