The Hulu Selangor District Wildlife Department (Perhilitan) plans to place cameras at KM18 of Jalan Batang Kali-Genting Highlands after a tiger was spotted in the area. Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim revealed that an auxiliary policeman reported encountering the tiger at 9.07am on Sunday (Aug 27). The police immediately contacted Perhilitan to aid in tracking the tiger, but initial investigations did not yield any evidence or sightings of the animal. Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim mentioned that the lack of any traces or sightings might be due to the thick foliage of acacia trees and rugged terrain at the location. He issued a statement on Sunday advising the public to exercise caution when engaging in activities in the area to avoid any unforeseen incidents. Additionally, he urged anyone with information about the tiger sighting to report it to the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters at 03-6064 1222, stating that their cooperation in this matter is vital. – Bernama
