Telekom Malaysia (TM) has announced an adjustment in the monthly subscription fee for its Unifi Home 2Gbps plan. The plan’s price has increased from RM399 to RM428.90.
The new subscription fee includes a standard Netflix plan, allowing users to stream content on two supported devices simultaneously. TM has also introduced the Unifi TV Ultimate Max package, providing access to 10 streaming apps such as Disney+ Hotstar, BBC Player, and iQiyi. Additionally, customers who subscribe to the 2Gbps plan will receive a free WiFi 6-certified Mesh device.
The 2Gbps plan was initially introduced in April with a subscription price of RM399. It offers download speeds of up to 2Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1Gbps.
In addition to the adjustment in the 2Gbps plan, TM has also revised the price of its 1Gbps plan. The monthly fee is now RM378.90, which includes a Netflix Standard subscription. Customers under this plan will also receive a six-month speed upgrade to 2Gbps for free.
For existing subscribers, TM has assured that the discounted price will remain valid as long as they remain on their respective 24-month plans, as stated in an FAQ document.
Currently, TM does not offer new users the option to opt out of the additional Netflix subscription for both the 2Gbps and 1Gbps plans. Both plans require a 24-month contract.
In terms of speed, TM clarified that customers on the 2Gbps plan will experience an aggregated speed offering, with each LAN port not exceeding 1Gbps but with a combined bandwidth of 2Gbps. Customers on the 1Gbps plan will enjoy the expected 1Gbps speed.
TM also mentioned in the FAQ that customers have the option to downgrade their plan, but this will reset the contract to 24 months.
For customers who do not require the Netflix subscription, TM offers Unifi plans starting from the 30Mbps plan with a monthly fee of RM89.
