JOHOR BARU: Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim has taken decisive action against a company whose worker was caught on video dumping rubbish at Pantai Lido. Tunku Ismail ordered that the company be immediately blacklisted.
Tunku Ismail shared a screenshot of his conversation with Johor Baru mayor Datuk Noorazam Osman on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to a user calling for the termination of the company’s contract. “Done,” Tunku Ismail tweeted in confirmation.
When contacted, Noorazam stated that the Johor Baru City Council had not only taken punitive action against the company but also issued a warning to other contractors under the council. “We have also instructed the implicated contractor to rectify the damages caused,” Noorazam added, noting that the worker involved had been terminated.
Earlier, a one-minute and 22-second video went viral on TikTok, showing a cleaner allegedly throwing rubbish into the bushes on the roadside of Pantai Lido. The video was recorded by user @laaibanatasha_, who parked her car opposite Sultanah Ismail Hospital (HSA).
As of now, the video has amassed over 600,000 views.
