In Parit, Perak, another student achieved a perfect CGPA of 4.0 solely relying on a mobile phone for online classes. Nur Izah Sabri, a 20-year-old student from Seri Iskandar, was one of two exceptional students at SMK Iskandar Shah, Parit. She shared her journey, stating that after completing her Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia (SPM), she worked as a waitress for two months, earning RM1,200 per month. Using her earnings, she supported her parents financially and purchased a smartphone worth RM700 for herself. Her father works as a Felcra settler, while her mother is a full-time housewife. With her parents’ modest income and four siblings, Nur Izah was motivated to excel in her STPM. Despite scoring all Bs in her trial exams, she was pleasantly surprised to achieve a perfect CGPA. Nur Izah plans to further her studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia to pursue her dream of becoming a Geography teacher.
In Sibu, David Chieng Joo Sheng, the top scorer from SMK Green Road in Kuching, aspires to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a doctor. Although his application to study medicine at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia was rejected, he remains optimistic and has applied at Unimas, awaiting the results. Chieng Joo Sheng expressed his relief at achieving a 4.0 CGPA in Biology, as he initially believed he would receive an A-. He attributed his success to effective time management, highlighting the importance of balancing academics and co-curricular activities. The dedicated student trusted his teachers and did not rely on tuition classes to excel. He prioritizes his health and believes that his academic achievements are a reflection of maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
