KULAI: A trader who sells clothes online has pleaded not guilty to possessing counterfeit money and intending to use it. Cheoh Chuan Wang, 24, appeared in court where he was charged with possessing two counterfeit RM100 notes and planning to use them as genuine currency. The alleged incident occurred at a petrol station in Batu 21 on July 1 at 4pm. If convicted, Cheoh could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail. Bail was set at RM4,000 with one surety and the case will be mentioned again on August 22.
Deputy public prosecutor Eddlyn Wong is handling the case, while the accused is represented by lawyer Omar Kutty Abd Aziz.
Cheoh has posted bail.
