PETALING JAYA: Traffic along the Elite Highway is experiencing a complete standstill due to a collision involving a tanker. As a result, several lanes have been closed to facilitate cleaning operations.
In a Friday Facebook post (Sept 8), PLUS Malaysia informed that the accident occurred at KM1.2 (Southbound) from Shah Alam to Seafield, causing spillage on the road. The Shah Alam intersection has subsequently been closed for cleaning purposes.
The post states, “Please plan your journey and consider utilizing an alternate route via the Federal Highway to access the Elite Highway.”
In a series of 9:11 pm posts on Friday, @PLUSTrafik reported significant traffic congestion along the Elite and NKVE highways. There is congestion for one kilometer northbound and five kilometers southbound on the NKVE, both before and after approaching the Shah Alam Toll Plaza. Additionally, there is a 14-kilometer northbound traffic jam on the Elite Highway.
All road users have been advised to seek alternative routes.
“The route from Shah Alam toll plaza, Setia Alam/Bukit Raja to Seafield is still open through a contraflow lane, while the section from Subang to Seafield remains completely closed.
