A tragic incident occurred in Taman Pinggiran Felda Sungai Kelamah, Gemas, where a seven-year-old girl lost her life after colliding with a garbage truck while riding her bicycle.
The victim, named Aminah Mohd Hafis, suffered severe injuries and tragically passed away at the scene. The incident took place yesterday at around 11:30am,” stated Tampin OCPD Supt Anuwal Ab Wahab.
Anuwal Ab Wahab explained that the initial investigations revealed that a 55-year-old man, who was driving the garbage truck, was making a turn to collect rubbish in the area. Suddenly, the victim dashed out from her house on her bicycle and collided with the right wheel of the truck.
As a result, she fell under the vehicle. “Upon realizing what happened, the lorry driver immediately got out of the driver’s seat and discovered the girl trapped under the rear wheel,” added Anuwal Ab Wahab, as reported by Bernama.
Following the incident, the body of the young girl was transported to Hospital Tampin for a post-mortem examination.
Currently, the case is under investigation according to Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
