PUTRAJAYA: The driver of the trailer that crashed into multiple vehicles at KM5.7 Jalan Persiaran Utara towards Puchong has been remanded for four days, starting on Thursday, September 21. The remand order was issued by Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin at the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court after the police’s application was granted.

The incident occurred at 10.15 am and involved 14 vehicles, including a police outrider motorcycle. The trailer collided with several vehicles that had stopped, likely to make way for a convoy, resulting in the immediate death of two motorcyclists. The victims have been identified as Faris Haziq Abu Bakar, 25, who was a Pos Malaysia staff, and Yuswar Mohd Uyus, 39, who worked at the Ampang Court.

Putrajaya district police chief ACP A Asmadi Abdul Aziz stated that the trailer driver tested negative for drugs and does not have any previous traffic offenses on record. The investigation of the case is being carried out under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
