The Transport Minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, extended his well wishes to Christians and all Malaysians for the Christmas holiday. He also serves as the DAP secretary-general and emphasized the importance of Christmas as a time for strengthening familial, community, and national bonds.
Loke highlighted the significance of universal values such as compassion and empathy during the Christmas season. He also noted that these values are embodied in the Malaysia Madani concept, which guides the unity government’s policies.
Furthermore, he underscored his efforts to bridge the gap between East and West Malaysia by implementing initiatives such as FlySiswa and imposing a cap on flight prices between the two regions during festive periods. He expressed that these initiatives, despite requiring substantial effort, are worthwhile as they bring families together.
Additionally, Loke emphasized the importance of collective duty as Malaysians to cultivate a society rooted in empathy and kindness while reconnecting with loved ones.
