KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid announced that the police made a gruesome discovery when responding to a fight at a shophouse in Jalan Perhentian Kampung Kovil Hilir on Friday night. Two suspects involved in the fight had fled before the authorities arrived. During their inspection of the second floor, the police found three dead men, all tied up, in a store room. One of the bodies was discovered naked. To assist the investigation, a Sri Lankan couple, who were also the parents of one of the victims, have been detained.
The victims, aged in their 20s and 30s, will undergo a post-mortem examination. Comm Allaudeen stated that the two missing men are the main suspects, but investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the murders. A knife discovered at the crime scene has been taken by the police, and forensic experts found no signs of a struggle.
The suspects were known to the victims’ parents and had been friends for approximately six months, according to Comm Allaudeen. The other two victims were tenants in the shophouse. Witnesses informed the police that the suspects, believed to also be Sri Lankan, had been staying at the shop for one or two nights, indicating that the murders might have been premeditated. The authorities are currently working to locate and apprehend the two suspects, as they have already been identified.
