In Melaka, an anti-vice operation carried out by the Melaka Immigration Department resulted in the arrest of twenty men and seven women at Taman Teknologi Cheng. The state director of the department, Anirwan Fauzee Mohd Aini, revealed that the premises, managed by a 28-year-old local man, offered massage and sexual services to foreign workers for fees ranging from RM50 to RM100 for sessions that lasted 15 minutes each.
The raid, which lasted three hours, was initiated on the evening of Thursday (Feb 8), and the detainees were aged between 28 and 43 years old.
On Friday (Feb 9), Anirwan Fauzee mentioned, “We embarked on the raid after locals complained about the nuisance created by the foreigners when patronising the outlet.”
He also stated that the seven women who were detained were from Thailand. Each of the rooms on the premises had a timer, and the clients were only allowed to be inside with the women for no more than 15 minutes.
According to Anirwan Fauzee, some of the foreigners attempted to flee without clothes when the 19 officers raided the premises and even hid behind cupboards. However, he reassured, “We managed to nab all of them.”
