In Johor Baru, two foreigners have been apprehended in relation to the death of a 37-year-old man in Taman Desa Cemerlang.
The Seri Alam OCPD, Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, confirmed that the police were alerted to a fight involving foreign men at 11.15pm on Saturday.
Upon investigation, a motionless foreign man was discovered in a rented room, inside Taman Desa Cemerlang. The man had severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial findings suggest that a dispute occured between the three men, with the victim provoking the two intoxicated suspects, resulting in a violent confrontation.
The victim sustained a slashing wound on the right side of his neck.
Supt Mohd Sohaimi said that shortly after midnight, two foreign men, aged 39 and 40, were apprehended near the crime scene.
Background checks revealed that both suspects had no prior criminal records.
During the arrest, law enforcement discovered three retractable blades stained with blood, as well as a bottle of liquor.
The victim’s body has been taken to Sultan Ismail Hospital for a post-mortem. Both suspects remain in custody until July 22.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder.
