SEREMBAN: A fire in Kampung Baru Nilai caused extensive damage to two houses, two cars, a tractor, and a temple on Monday evening. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
According to Nilai Fire and Rescue Department chief Operations Commander Bakarya Mohd Salleh, the first house, measuring 30×50 feet, was approximately 80% destroyed. The second house suffered significant damage in the kitchen area, and the temple, also measuring 30×50 feet, was similarly 80% affected by the fire.
The fire department received an emergency call at 6.20pm on Monday. Fourteen firemen were deployed to combat the blaze, and the operation lasted until 7.45pm, concluding about 35 minutes later.
The tractor was estimated to be 80% destroyed, while the two cars were completely razed. The cause of the fire and the extent of the losses are still under investigation. – Bernama
