At Holiday Inn Melaka, more than 78 underprivileged children from various charity homes and the Agape Society celebrated the beginning of Deepavali with a special programme. The event, which took place on Tuesday (Nov 7), was organized by the hotel and received support from Dr S. Selva Kumar of Poliklinik Bandar and the Apex Club of Melaka.
K. Ramasamy Kamalingam, the general manager of the hotel, expressed the reason behind their annual festive cheer programmes as being the joy they see on the faces of the children. “We believe in the power of community and the importance of sharing the joy of Deepavali with underprivileged children. We hope this brings all of us closer to the community,” he said.
Ramasamy mentioned that his team was honored to organize this event that aimed to bring happiness and celebration to these underprivileged children. During the event, the children showcased their talents through performances, and a variety of local cuisines were offered.
As a token of appreciation to the children and all the attendees, the hotel also gave away goody bags. The festive event aimed to spread happiness among these underprivileged children and bring the community closer together.
