Social media content creator Khairul Aming has emerged as a shining example of a successful bumiputra businessman, setting a new record by earning RM1.2 million in just three minutes and 39 seconds through sales on social media.

During the closing ceremony of the Bumiputera Economic Congress (KEB) 2024, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim lauded Khairul, along with prominent names like Les Copaque and Animonsta, encouraging more Malaysians to follow their innovative paths.

Among the outcomes of the congress was the announcement of a new RM1 billion Bumiputra entrepreneurship fund, which has generated significant interest within political circles.

Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, who is also an Umno supreme council member, emphasized that the fund aims to empower the bumiputra community, underscoring the unity government’s commitment to their advancement.

He noted that these proactive measures demonstrate the government’s steadfast focus on safeguarding the interests of Malays and bumiputras, contrary to prior criticisms of neglecting these communities.

Mara, a key agency supporting bumiputras, has been reinforced to enhance its assistance to the community, according to Ahmad Shabery.

Chairman of Mara, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi, hailed the success of the congress, highlighting over 70 resolutions aimed at bolstering Bumiputra socio-economic development through grassroots initiatives and engagements dating back to December of the previous year.

He commended the prime minister’s initiatives, foreseeing a significant impact on community empowerment as a result and endorsing the translation of congress findings into the New Empowerment Agenda for Bumiputeras over the next decade.

“In addition to the TVET empowerment agenda, the Madani Housing Scheme on Malay reserved land, targeting 2,500 units of affordable housing in the short term, stands out as a crucial outcome of this KEB,” noted Asyraf, who also serves as Umno’s secretary-general.
