Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim declared that the unity government would persistently empower Felda and its settlers, affirming that the concerns raised by the group will be resolved promptly. These issues encompass infrastructure problems such as street lights, internet access, village clinics, and dialysis centers. Anwar further mentioned that he had requested Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Felda chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek to aid in facilitating and expediting the resolution process for the problems confronted in the settlement.
Anwar emphasized that he had also instructed other ministers, including the Minister of Education and the Minister of Health, to work similarly towards resolving these issues. He stressed on the need for coordination between ministries to ensure that within a span of one or two years, improved attention will be given to Felda and its settlers, surpassing previous efforts.
“This is my commitment. I want the ministries to be involved, and I will discuss this matter in the upcoming Cabinet meeting,” he stated during his address at Karnival Segalanya Felda at Felda Chemomoi Business Square on Monday (Oct 2).
