The central zone Madani Rakyat programme will start at the Kuala Selangor Sports Complex on Friday (Feb 23), providing a platform for the unity government to disseminate new policies and initiatives. It is a three-day event, part of the Madani Government One Year Anniversary programme, offering 163 services from federal, state and related government agencies. The event aims to attract 100,000 visitors and enable the public to provide feedback to enhance service quality, furthering the Malaysia Madani agenda for a more prosperous nation.
In line with the Madani Rakyat programme, traffic summons discount counters will be available by the police, offering up to 50% off on selected summonses. However, ten compoundable offences are not eligible for the discount, including accidents, offences involving heavy vehicles, running red lights, overtaking on double lines, overtaking dangerously and non-compoundable traffic offences.
Additionally, registration booths for Rahmah Cash Aid and mobile services from the Road Transport Department will facilitate driver’s and vehicle license renewals and helmet exchanges. The event will also feature Madani Mega Sales and Agro Madani Sales, government asset exhibitions, mobile services such as dental examinations and treatments, a blood donation campaign, recycling services, therapeutic massage and cosmetology services. The programme will run from 9am to 10pm and will focus on activities related to agriculture and food security, TVET and social security networks.
Moreover, the leading ministry of the programme will set up a special pavilion offering advisory services on various topics, including padi technology, aquaculture and vertical farming, besides organising a petting zoo for children. Various facilities are available at the Kuala Selangor Sports Complex to ensure visitor comfort, including parking areas, transportation facilities, prayer rooms, restrooms and dining areas. The programme is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (Pacu), the Agirculture and Food Security Ministry and the Selangor state government, covering Selangor, Perak and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. – Bernama
