Upko is aiming to compete for the Limbahau seat in the upcoming Sabah polls, according to Datuk Ewon Benedick, the president of Upko.

Datuk Juil Nuatim, who won the seat on a Parti Warisan ticket in 2020, had previously held the Limbahau seat.

Juil subsequently left Warisan on December 28, 2021, to establish the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat, led by Datuk Peter Anthony. However, he left the party in May this year and is now an independent member of the ruling state coalition Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

“We will convene with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and other Pakatan Harapan members to discuss the allocation of this seat,” Benedick stated. He is also the Kadamaian assemblyman and Penampang MP. This announcement was made after officiating the Papar, Kimanis, and Beaufort division convention held in Papar on Sunday, October 15.

In the 2020 state elections, Upko competed for 12 seats but was only successful in winning one, which was the Kadamaian seat.
