KUALA LUMPUR: The Inspector-General of Police has announced that the police will take action against motorists who display their Pahang award emblems on their vehicles. Tan Sri Razarudin Husain stated that such displays are considered an offense and can be penalized under Section 3(1)(D) of the Pahang Emblems, Titles or Awards (Prevention of Improper Use) Enactment 2017.

According to the Enactment, it is prohibited for anyone, except with written permission from the Sultan, to display or attach any item containing title emblems, awards, or replicas of the awards on any vehicle. Tan Sri Razarudin Husain warned that vehicles that continue to display these emblems can face legal action.

This announcement comes after a reminder from the Comptroller of the Royal Household of the Sultan of Pahang, Datuk Ahmad Khirrizal Ab Rahman.

The Pahang Emblems, Titles or Awards (Prevention of Improper Use) Enactment 2017 strictly regulates the display and use of Pahang award emblems on vehicles. Violators can be subjected to penalties as stipulated in the Enactment.

Pahang is one of the Malaysian states that grants awards as a form of recognition to individuals who have made significant contributions or achievements. These awards often carry great prestige and are highly regarded.

It is therefore important to protect the integrity and exclusivity of these awards by preventing their improper use or unauthorized display on vehicles.

The police are committed to enforcing the law and will take necessary measures to ensure compliance with the regulations regarding the display of Pahang award emblems on vehicles.

The public is advised to abide by the regulations and seek proper authorization if they wish to display Pahang award emblems on their vehicles in order to avoid legal consequences.

The police will continue to monitor and take action against any violations of the Pahang Emblems, Titles or Awards (Prevention of Improper Use) Enactment 2017 in order to preserve the prestige of these awards.
