Watch out for Dr M’s new association with SG4, Salleh Keruak tells Pakatan

PETALING JAYA: Former Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak has urged Pakatan Harapan to stay vigilant regarding Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s new role as the unofficial advisor of State Government 4 (SG4), in order to prevent another political crisis similar to the one caused by Perikatan Nasional. Salleh shared his thoughts in a Facebook post on Saturday (Sept 16), stating that Dr Mahathir is not a leader who acts without a clear objective in mind. He described the former prime minister as someone who seizes opportunities that could benefit him politically and believes that the current appointment is a strategic move, with more to come in the future.

Salleh cautioned Pakatan to remain one step ahead of Dr Mahathir to avoid any potential crisis orchestrated by Perikatan. He expressed confidence in the leadership of the Pakatan coalition to anticipate Dr Mahathir’s expected actions if he were to make any moves soon.

Terengganu Mentri Besar and PAS vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar announced on Thursday (Sept 14) that the mentris besar of Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, and himself would be discussing an action plan for the official grouping of the four Perikatan-controlled state governments. Ahmad Samsuri added that Dr Mahathir would provide advice to the group to ensure efficient governance within the proposed grouping.

With regards to this development, Salleh Said Keruak has warned Pakatan Harapan about the potential implications. He stressed the importance of anticipating Dr Mahathir’s moves and understanding his intentions behind them, in order to prevent any surprises and unanticipated problems.
