The water supply for the areas affected by the Sg Langat Water Treatment Plant is now at 64.6%, according to a statement by Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).
As of 6pm on Thursday (Oct 12), the water supply recovery for the Petaling and Kuala Lumpur regions is at 89.2% and 43.1% respectively. The water supply to Hulu Langat has been fully restored at 1.30pm.
However, the water supply to 162 localities in Kuala Lumpur and four more in the Petaling region has yet to be restored.
Air Selangor estimates that the water supply for the remaining affected areas will be fully recovered by 6am on Friday (Oct 13).
Earlier on Thursday, Air Selangor had to revise its original schedule for water supply recovery due to an unavoidable technical issue at the Water Treatment Plant.
“The recovery period had to be extended to ensure the distribution of clean and safe treated water to consumers,” Air Selangor stated.
Air Selangor is currently focused on ensuring a smooth water supply recovery process.
Additionally, Air Selangor will deploy 81 water tankers in the 162 affected areas, prioritizing critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres, and funeral homes.
